Can They Coexist?

The rush to global commerce is driving a rapid expansion of demand for air transport, and the result is a kind of airport super-sprawl that endangers the health of urban populations all over the world. More imaginative approaches to airport design could greatly reduce the damage wreaked by these gargantuan facilities.
