Andrew Burnette - Web Manager

Andrew Burnette joined the Worldwatch Institute as Web Manager in May 2007. Previously, he worked at the Stanley Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on foreign policy. Andrew has also consulted with various other nonprofits on website strategy and development. He has more than 10 years of experience as a webmaster and consultant, with a focus on Internet strategy emphasizing user experience and usability. In 2002, he earned his Certified Usability Analyst certificate from Human Factors International. He is also experienced in web analytics and analysis tools, search engine optimization, and information architecture.

Andrew holds a B.A. in Religious Studies from the University of Iowa. He is a professional member of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Usability Professionals Association (UPA). He also participates in the ACM special interest groups on Computer-Human Interaction (CHI) and WEB. Andrew is interested in issue politics, particularly environmental issues, alternative energy, nuclear non-proliferation, and arms control. He is also fascinated by social network theory and the “small world” phenomenon.
