What do you think of conservation banking (e.g. wetland mitigation banking or species banking)?

Results
It is an effective way to ensure that endangered ecosystems and species are protected.
The concept is a good one, but much more regulation and oversight is needed to ensure continuous protection.
The practice is inherently flawed because the land or species damaged cannot simply be replicated or moved elsewhere.
The concept is dangerous; conservation banking makes it easier for companies to develop fragile areas.
