Like they say, action and reaction are equal and oposite. We have come to know the world as always paying back somehow. If you plant a seed, it gives back a fruit, often times, the fruit take a while before it comes forth. I would liken our actions on mother earth as planting seeds which will definitely bring forth fruits at the appropriate time. Yes, cloud seeding though I do not fully understand the concept, will surely show its reaction somewhere. We just shouldn't allow our short term gains becloud the long term benefit of a safer world for our children and the generations to come.
Mythago22 hit the proverbial nail on the head. Could not agree more. Hubris, ignorance, short-sightedness of the human species all seem to know no bounds. When will it all stop? If the human race cannot see the deleterious effects of its folly now and is unable/unwilling to reform its attitudes as well as behavior, then it may never happen. As the bumper sticker says: Nature bats last.
OF course, it is not still clearly known whether cloud seeding has good or bad impact on atmosphere. The chemical used for seeding process i.e. Silver Iodide (AgI) may have negative impact on the surrounding aquatic ecosystem. It may also change natural pattern of precipitation and ice fall in higher mountain. This is why it would be better to think seriously before it is done.

You would think that with all the calamitous effects upon the natural environment that we as a species, have perpetrated, there would be more caution over doing anything more that might have an adverse effect upon it. But no, this is typical of a nation that wants to curry favour with the rest of the world by putting on a grandstand event for the entire world to see, even though it is achieved with subterfuge. This false image reflects the false promises to actually do anything about pollution, climate change, poverty, resource scarcity, renewable energy or conservation of endangered species and/or habitats.
Lets be honest its all for show.
I really pity the planet and the future generations who have to survive the mess.
We just don't know enough about the weather systems, and maybe more importantly, the spillover effects of seeding on weather 'downstream.' My appropriating moisture from a weather system may adversely affect my neighbor. Possbibly this raises the spectre of competitiveness between localities for weather itself as a scarce resource. Even more intractable than the problem of accurate weather prediction are the resulting ethical and legal problems that might emerge downwind of a seeding scheme.

I quite agree with your concerns on how this seeding will affect the weather, especially over China's neighbors countries. They don't seem to have thought this through properly.
