CONFRONTING GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE
According to the latest science, the world has less than a decade left to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and avoid the most catastrophic effects of climate change. In advance of climate change negotiations in Copenhagen this December, there is a strategic opportunity for governments and peoples across the globe to come together to address a shared problem and forge a new global agreement on climate change. No multilateral issue is as essential to the future of the planet and its people. But with eight months to go, wide gaps between the United States, Europe, China and India are yet to be bridged. Issues such as emissions reductions, cap and trade, technology transfer, and adapting to climate change take on different meanings, depending on the region you are from.
Please join the Worldwatch Institute and the International Club of DC for an evening discussion and networking gala with speakers representing various perspectives on the climate challenge.
