Marketing/Promotion Intern

Internship:   Marketing/Promotion
Type:            Part-time, at least 20 hours per week
Duration:      3 months - up to 6 months
Stipend:        None
Start Date:    September 2009

Position Summary: The Marketing/Promotion Intern will support Worldwatch publication marketing efforts, with 75% time focused on revenue-generating activities and 25% on reporting and other administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute publication promos using DM, E-mail, and Social Media
  • Analyze current promotion efforts and offer strategic alternatives to maximize promo budget
  • Identify third party websites and e-newsletters for placement of web ads to drive traffic and pub sales
  • Manage Google keyword program to increase sales of WW pubs
  • Work closely with web staff on SEO and promotion offers
  • Monitor web pages to ensure strong benefit copy on landing pages

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience developing and executing Web and DM promotions
  • Familiarity with Web 2.0 functionalities
  • Strong research, analysis, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to work well individually and with a team
  • Experience in product development either on the job or in class assignments
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • MBA candidates preferred
