Alice McKeown is the Vital Signs Online Director and a Research Associate at Worldwatch. She holds a Master's degree in Anthropology and International Development from the George Washington University and graduated summa cum laude for her bachelor's degree at the same university.

Prior to joining Worldwatch in 2008, Alice worked more than five years as an issue expert and lobbyist for the Sierra Club in Washington, D.C. Her expertise includes coal, energy, and air pollution. She is also interested in the local foods movement, supporting farmer's markets, and sustainable agriculture.

In addition to environmental advocacy, Alice has significant experience working with the media including print, radio, and television interviews. She has appeared on CNN, CBS, and PBS, and has been quoted in major newspapers including the New York Times and the Boston Globe.
