Transportation

The automobile dominated the world's roads in the last century, eventually polluting many communities and helping to change the global climate. Air travel, the fastest-growing form of transportation, also contributes to pollution and climate change. Today, with the environmental and social costs of road and air traffic well documented, and with natural gas and renewable sources of energy beginning to replace oil, we can envision a new generation of rail, bus, and cycle facilities, as well as 'walkable' communities that give people more choice while causing less damage to the environment.
