Julia Tier joined the Worldwatch Institute in 2007 and now serves as Communications Associate. She returned to her native Washington, D.C., after studying at Fordham University in New York, where she received both a B.A. and an M.A. in Communication and Media Studies. She specializes in the effect of public communication on the political system and the public sphere. While in New York, Julia worked as a press intern for Congressman Charles Rangel, as a production intern for NBC Studios, and as a marketing intern and contributing writer for Bustedhalo.com. Julia is passionate about social justice issues, including peacemaking, poverty, and inequality.
