Trudy Loo joined the Worldwatch Institute as Director of Individual Giving in 2009. She previously directed development and communications at the Yale-China Association, an international nonprofit organization based at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, with offices in Mainland China and Hong Kong. She also spent two years at a national health charity in Canada where she launched a donor recognition program for major and planned gifts.

Trudy is originally from Vancouver, Canada, where she completed her M.A. in Asia-Pacific Policy Studies at the University of British Columbia. Her research focus was on China's urban restructuring and economic development policies. In addition to fundraising, Trudy has worked in corporate human resources, nonprofit media, and intercultural communications program development. She speaks fluent Cantonese and has lived and worked in Hong Kong and Canada.
