Xing Fu-Bertaux joined the Worldwatch Institute as a Research Associate in the Energy and Climate program, supporting the institute’s work on Low-Carbon Development Strategies. She is responsible for research and analysis of financing options for renewable energies and the effectiveness of domestic and international support mechanisms for sustainable energies and development in the Dominican Republic and in Haiti.

She joins the institute with experience in climate finance and international development. She spent time researching various aspects of climate finance at the World Resources Institute, from the governance of climate finance institutions to the role of international public finance in creating the adequate environment to scale up commercial finance for sustainable energies. Earlier on, she worked as an advisor to the German Technical Cooperation (GIZ) in Beijing, and as a research fellow at the International Climate Initiative of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment in Berlin.

Xing has been reporting and analyzing the UNFCCC climate negotiations since 2007. She has been engaged in building the capacity of French-speaking African delegations for the international negotiations on climate change (UNFCCC) with FuturFacteur4/Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie from 2007 to 2010.

She holds a M.A in international relations from SciencesPo, Paris.
