Join Worldwatch’s Monthly Giving Club by making an automatic donation each month via direct deduction from your credit card. It’s simple, secure, and one of the most cost-effective ways to support the Institute’s vision for a sustainable world. How does it work?
You determine the amount of your monthly donation and register your credit card information securely with us. Each month, we automatically deduct that amount. Upon receipt of your initial gift, we will mail you a welcome letter confirming your membership in the Monthly Giving Club and explaining the terms of your commitment to the Institute. To save on postage and paper, we will mail you only one acknowledgement each December for your total yearly contribution. This acknowledgement serves as proof of donation for tax purposes.
Why choose monthly giving?
- Members of our Monthly Giving Club provide Worldwatch with a steady and reliable source of financial support for our diverse projects and publications.
- Automatic deductions from your credit card each month allow you to maximize your gift without breaking the bank. You may be able to give more per month than you would via a one-time contribution. For example, donors who give $30 each month—less than a dollar a day—make an impressive annual gift of $360.
- Worldwatch’s monthly donors help conserve financial and environmental resources by eliminating the need for paper membership reminders and by requiring only one annual acknowledgement letter for 12 monthly contributions. We cut costs and avoid using as much paper and ink!
Have you considered gifting assets of stock to Worldwatch? Donating securities that have been held for more than one year and that have appreciated in value can be a highly tax-effective way to make a significant gift to the Institute. The process is also simple and straightforward. U.S. taxpayers who itemize their deductions will usually be able to deduct the full market value of securities on the day they are transferred. You pay no capital gains on the stock appreciation, and the tax deduction can be used toward up to 30 percent of your adjusted gross income.
